and troubleshooting. Please read this instruction manual carefully
before using this machine.

All Suzumo machines are designed to maximizing the safety of  the operators. Therefore each machine is equipped with instruction labels and/or Protective Cover and interlock sensors. However the machine employs the agitating or mixing mechanism for stirring and loosening rice, transferring mechanism, the cutting-rice-sheet mechanism, and forming mechanism for producing sushi rolls. Remember those mechanisms are dangerous if a part of your body access those which can catch or cut your body part. Therefore, those mechanisms could cause serious or fatal injury to the operator while handling the machine improperly. Suzumo machines are designed to prevent accidental injury or electrical shock when properly installed, maintained and operated. However, no engineering design can make equipment safe if it is improperly installed, maintained, and operated. The machine employs Protective Cover and interlock switch. WhenProtective Cover is opened or removed or misaligned, the machine will be stopped automatically for safety by the interlock function. All mechanical or electrical adjustments or servicing or repairs are
not permitted except as explained in this manual. Servicing the machine has to be conducted by or under the supervision of qualified persons, or servicemen who have permission from SUZUMO, had completed the product training and had understood the basic functions, the structure and the operation. Failure to follow the instructions and proper safety procedures

written in this instruction manual when working on mechanical or electrical components of the machine will result in a serious or fatal accident. When parts are disassembled, cleaned, or assembled, the machine shall be turned off and unplugged beforehand even by a serviceman

Functions
Sushi Roll Machine SVR-NXA-CE is a semiautomatic machine
which can produce Norimaki, or sushi rolls as many as you plan. The
operation is simple. Before starting, place an enough amount of sushi
rice into Rice Hopper, and then just press two operation switches
together after turning on Power Switch. The first pressing and holding
of both the left and right button switches results in rice-sheet
formation on Forming Plate Unit and the second pressing of both
switches results in sushi-roll formation. The motion of the forming
plate unit is done while pressing both the switches. Once one of hands
releases the button, the machine stops the part motions. Repeating to
press both Operation Switches produces sushi rolls continually.
Between the first pressing and the second pressing the two switches
together, place filling on the rice sheet. The filling comes to be the
stuffing in the sushi roll by pressing two button switches for the
second time.
Functions of Parts and Units
 Power Switch
When Power Switch is ON, power is applied to the machine and
the machine is ready to start up.
When Power Switch is OFF, power is not applied to the machine.
The machine is not ready to start up.
 Operation Panel
Operation Panel, or a liquid crystal display, is a touch panel on
which the machine control and performance settings can be
conducted.
Start Screens appear when Power Switch is turned on. Then Main
Screen appears successively.
 Operation Switch
A rice sheet is ejected (comes out on the moving forming
plate unit) through Vertical Weighing Unit, or Forming Plate
Unit is folded to form a sushi roll, each time when both the

operation switches are pressed and held.
 Emergency Stop Switch
This switch is used to stop the machine in emergency. For
restarting machine, first solve the problem, confirm the safety and
then the Emergency Stop Switch turning it to the right. Do not forget to
remove the rice from Vertical Weighing Unit before restarting. Then
press the Reset Switch to restart the machine.
 Reset Switch
This switch is used to reset the machine before operation.
The machine has an electrical safety system which requests the
operator to press the Reset Switch before starting machine in cases of
operating machine at the beginning or resetting Hopper Lid.
 Rice Hopper and Supply Hopper
Sushi rice in Rice Hopper is fed into Supply Hopper and is mixed by
the two Agitators and then is fed into the space between Rollers in
Vertical Weighing Unit by the paddles of Agitators. Agitators are
controlled with the photoelectric sensor located at the bottom of
Supply Hopper just below Rice Hopper. The sensor checks whether
rice is above Vertical Weighing Unit or not. Agitators stop when the rice
sensor (Vertical Weighing Sensor) detects rice at the bottom of Supply
Hopper or when the sensor does not detect rice for certain seconds.
Usually when Vertical Weighing sensor detects no rice above Upper
Rollers, Agitators starts to move and to feed rice into Vertical Roller
Unit. The foregoing function shows that Vertical Weighing Unit stops
when Supply Hopper has no rice so that rice does not comes out to the
position above Upper Roller.
 Vertical Weighing Unit
The structure of Vertical Conveyor Rollers such as Upper Rollers
and Base Rollers with side panels adjusts the density and thickness of
the rice conveyed from Supply Hopper between the front and inside
rollers. The front rollers are the Upper Roller and the Base Roller in
front. The inside base rollers are different slightly in shape from the
front base rollers. The upper inside roller and the upper front roller are
same.

 Shutter Unit
The ejected rice sheet from Vertical Weighing Unit is cut by
Shutter Blade. The cut rice sheet is fed on Forming Plate Unit.
 Forming Unit
After a rice sheet comes out of Vertical Weighing Unit on Forming
Plate Units, Forming Plates are folded by Push-up Roller Unit.
 Protective Cover Unit
Protective Cover has to be set when the machine is operated, to
prevent your body parts from being entangled and pinched by Vertical
Conveyor Rollers and Shutter Blade, respectively
 Entanglement Protection Sensor
When a rice sheet comes out on Forming Plates or while Forming
Plate Unit is folded by moving up Push-up Rollers, if your hand or other
foreign object enters the space above Forming Plate Unit, the machine
stops by detecting it with the sensor.
